Easy! Shoot us an email at booking@stewartvoyages.com and give us a brief description of what you're looking to do and we will get back to you ASAP. FYI, we both have this email on our phones and we are very quick to respond to emails. You will not be waiting hours for us to get back to you. However, if you want immediate response, you can shoot us a text or call 843-907-1010.
The simple, honest answer is that its just easier to book with us. No waiting on hold, no gimmicks, no '"try hard" sales pitch. You will never pay more through us than you will booking direct. We have the same access to the same deals they have. You pay nothing for our service. Additionally, after the booking if you need to make a change? Just shoot us a text or email and its done. No waiting on hold to make a simple change. Want to book extras on the ship? Excursions? Shoot an email or text and we will send you options and book what you want. We don't have hold music or answering services, when you call or text you get US with your *undivided attention. That's the simple, honest answer.
*Disclaimer: Undivided attention may be slightly misleading. We do have kids, 3 big dogs and two cats. Other than that, undivided. :)
The suppliers pay us a commission. When you book through the supplier directly, they still charge you the same amount. So you basically pay them for the agent commission, but don't get any of those benefits mentioned above.
Cruises are our specialty, but not our only capability. As a couple who both work in the aviation industry, we have traveled quite a bit. We've spent 1000's of nights in hotel rooms, rented hundreds of cars and have many miles of flights, both airline and private, under our belts. So, yes, we have the capability to book just about anything you need. We just have a special attachment to cruising. Speaking of cruising, we can also book excursions!
That's one of the best benefits of working with us. You tell us what's important to you, what you want to get out of the vacation and what your budget is and we will find the right one for YOU!
This may be THE most frequently asked question in cruising. The answer? It depends. For Melanie and I, it's a no-brainer. We purchase it every time. We can ask you some questions and do some quick math on your situation and tell you whether it would benefit you or not. It really comes down to how much you drink. Some things to keep in mind when deciding. 1) Everyone over 21 in your cabin has to buy it if you decide to get it. 2) In most cases, it includes much more than alcoholic drinks (specialty coffees, milkshakes, sodas, bottles of water etc). 3) Don't be in that crowd at sailor services after that first night begging for a retroactive drink package. They won't do it. Happens every time. Everyone parties it up that first night, looks at their onboard account and gets sticker shock. 4) My personal guess, based on no scientific data whatsoever, is that most people that get the package probably don't save money. It's that piece of mind that you can get as many drinks as you want and not worry about your account at the end of the cruise that makes it worth it for most.
This isn't a simple yes/no answer. Booking excursions from 3rd party vendors will save you money (almost always). There are also more options through 3rd party vendors. The hesitation comes with the fear of getting left behind if you don't make it back to the ship. With that said, I am very selective when booking outside of the cruise line. We can help you book excursions both with the cruise lines and also through some of our 3rd party vendors. We will help you identify which ones are more risky on getting back in time. Quick Example: Melanie and I did a Catamaran trip and on the way back one of the engines on the boat failed so we had to limp back at less than half speed. All aboard time was 7pm, scheduled departure time 7:30pm, we finally got back at 8:30pm. Luckily it was an excursion booked directly with the cruise line and the ship waited on us (all 25 of us). Had that been a third party vendor's excursion, we may have been left by the ship. I've never been left by the ship, but that has to be the WORST feeling when cruising. Even though we make slightly more commission on 3rd party excursions, we won't recommend those unless the risk is low. We would be devastated to learn one of our clients were left behind! We will help you keep that risk LOW.
YES. Without a doubt, the answer to this one is easy. Medical expenses on the ship or abroad are sky high. If you or a family member gets sick and you have to get off the ship for medical care, the prices stack up in a hurry. There are benefits for trip cancellation where you can get your cruise cost reimbursed as well (depending on the policy and reason for cancellation). However, the main reason I get it is the fear of needing medical care abroad. If you have to be transported back to your home town after a medical emergency, OUCH! $$$$$$$ If you get the flu or slip and injure yourself at the pool and need to go to the ship doctor the costs are absolutely ridiculous! Plans that cover medical expenses only are really cheap. if you travel more than once/year they have annual plans that are definitely worth it. If you are a veteran and also a USAA member they have GREAT rates on Trip or Annual insurance policies through Travel Insured International. If you're not eligible for that we can help you out with a plan from Allianz or Chubb to keep you protected.
